Happy Anniversary

Yesterday was my son & daughter-in-law's 2nd wedding anniversary. We knew we wanted to give them a little something for their upcoming trip. But I wanted to add something else....enter Pinterest! Yup...yet another idea from Pinterest. Have I mentioned how much I love Pinterest!! :) This is their wedding date drawn on with a fabric marker. I added the flower for some fun but I couldn't stop there...

This is the back of the pillow. I decided to add a little pocket to tuck their gift in. I love how it all turned out! Much better than just a card with some money inside wouldn't you say?!!  And it fits the bill for the second anniversary traditional gift of cotton!

The Perfect Way to Welcome Spring!

Saturday I had eight ladies over for a "Spring Crafting Day". We had such a good time! The weather was great too. I gave the ladies two projects to choose from... covered books or a sign. For the ones that chose the sign I gave them the option of using Easter bunny type words or Christian words. Everyone chose the Christian words.

We also covered some eggs with decoupage & torn book paper. Then colored, glittered and wrapped with ribbon & string.

Of course I always have to include a little something for each person. :)

There were plenty of snacks & finger food to carry us through the afternoon. Even some rootbeer floats!

And what Easter/Spring event doesn't need a little carrot cake.

                                                        And carrots!!

These are Britni's beautiful books! The edges are painted and glittered & each gal made a little tag to go along with it.

Here are a few signs in progress.

And a few finished!

All in all it was a fun, relaxing day spent with great friends!!! Thanks to all the ladies that joined me for the afternoon! Happy Easter!!

Week Six and Seven!

Week 6

Still enjoying putting these pages together. It does get a little time consuming but I am proud of myself for keeping up.

Week 7

This week I added an insert. I wanted to be sure to mark the 100th birthday of Arizona!

Behind the tribute to AZ I added a little Valentine shaker page. I like the way it turned out. Nothing fancy but something different to add to the page. More to come soon!! Thanks for stopping by.

More Project Life

I am actually only 2 weeks behind in Project Life. Which I am thrilled about. But I am way behind in sharing the pages. So here goes....

Week 4 continued-
At the top of the page I tucked all the grad cards from the party into the empty slot.
I love adding all the little details and scraps onto the pages.

Week 5-
As I mentioned before I didn't buy any kits for PL. I am making everything as I go & using up all of my scraps. I did buy some fun journaling tags & a 12x12 book of paper that was color coordinated. I have been having fun choosing the color combinations each week. I know...easily amused.

Sometimes it seems with an empty nest that there isn't much to share. But I keep plugging along. I guess as with everyone's life there are weeks that are overflowing and weeks that seem to be empty of exciting things to add. But that is OK...that is LIFE!

Hope you have enjoyed the peek!

Happy St Patrick's Day

When the boys were little the Leprechaun used to visit our house very early in the morning on St Patrick's Day and he would turn the milk green. In the process he left little green footprints in our refrigerator.
My boys just loved this! (Maybe not quite as much as I did.)
So this year with all of them out of the house this is what the "Leprechaun" did. Special deliveries all around!

And to make it even better-this is the text I got this morning from one of the boys.
 Awesome!!

Buried Alive!

This is what it feels like! Actually it looks MUCH BETTER than this but boy it feels like this. I am in the process of organizing paperwork. We all have it! And it hits me most right after taxes are complete. The need to get organized and quit filling the file cabinet & clean it out instead.

I have some friends that are in the process of moving right now. They are busy cleaning, purging & sorting. It made me think....why not me! So I am "pretending" to move. Taking it room by room & organizing. It is a great feeling when a room is finished.

Here are a few photos to inspire you!

A personal favorite....since my pantry is filled with more utility items than food. Wow! Taken from Pinterest via The Container Store.

And what post on organizing would be complete without showing a beautiful scraproom! Also from Pinterest via Scrapbook.Com Gallery. I am off to keep the momentum going....wish me luck!!

A little Tweak

Week 4:

We had the graduation party here & I didn't want to do a separate book for that so I included it in my PL book. Same basic format but lots more pics. A few small pages were added too. I really like how it worked out.

It makes for a busy book but it is such a good way to get a lot of photos into one album. This way I will have all of our family things together in one year! This will be a first!! :)

I added some of the decorations from the party & a menu too!

Above & below are small inserts that I added to the book. I plan to punch holes in a page & tie the one below on with ribbons.
