Journal

My middle son will be leaving next month for a mission trip with a Christian group from ASU. He is excited....me, a little apprehensive. But I guess that is part of being a mom. I am excited for him and all the great memories he will have when he returns. So as a small part of his birthday gift I made this little journal for him to carry with him. He can write down what is going on as it happens and be able to share it when he comes home. Hope he likes it.

Wouldn't That Be Cool

Right after posting this about the cricut I found a blog that is having an amazing giveaway. A cricut and two other exciting gifts. I commented on all the blogs....now wouldn't that be cool to win!!!

Should I or Shouldn't I ?

OK...so I am really wanting one of these! I know lots of people have them already but I never did buy one. But for some reason I have the itch to get one. I use one at work but would really like to have one here at home. Tell me what you think...if you have one, do you like it? Do you use it a lot?

Catching Up

So a week ago I taught two classes at Paper Vineyard. They were a lot of fun. These two gals did a great job with the wall hanging. They didn't want me to show them but I had to get a shot of their work. Love the colors they chose.

The night before the classes we had an employee crop at the store. They are always so much fun. My guests were my boys 1st and 2nd grade teachers. How cool is that! We had so much fun together cropping and chatting all night.

You might wonder why in the world this photo is here. Well as I said in the last post, we had family photos done this past weekend. They were fun and funky and out of the ordinary. I wanted something to add to the shoot. I was searching for a fun old chair but just couldn't find one. Then I came upon this beauty at Savers. As my husband says...it looks like it belongs in the Addams Family House. Perfect! Just what I wanted and only $6.99! Oh yeah! It was fun posing with this old thing. Can't wait to see how they turn out. And now I think I will try my hand at reupholstering. What have I got to lose for only $6.99.

Last but not least...I am starting a new project for the store. A Mother's Day book. Lots of butterflies and bling. Can't wait to put it all together.

Soaring

Wow...what a week! So much good news that my heart is overflowing.
First off...we received good news from the doctor and a "SUCCESS STORY" has been declared. Praise God!
It feels as if a huge weight has been lifted. We are truly grateful.

Our oldest got a new car! Well, it is used but it is in great shape. So cool. (that is a silver accent on the front panel not a dent) :) He waited patiently for so long. After researching online and finding the car he wanted, he arranged the financing & insurance himself. He took information to the dealer and pretty much set it all up himself. What a lucky salesman.
It was so much fun to see the huge smile on his face. What a great son he is!! See...again, truly blessed. And very grateful.

Yesterday we had family photos taken. Oh my! It was so much fun. She did some fun and funky shots. We toured Tempe stopping at beaten up garages, alleys and rustic brick facades. Pretty cool. Of course the boys weren't thrilled with photos but they never are. They did it for me. And I was so happy. Can't wait to see what she does with them.

My middle son is planning a trip to Macedonia. Wow...a little nervous about that but his heart is in the right place for it. They will work with missionaries while they are there. It is through the Chi Alpha group at ASU. Very cool.

Overall feeling so lucky and blessed to have such a great family. God is good. And I am grateful.
Have a wonderful Sunday.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

So about a week ago a friend of mine...Sherry posted these adorable bunnies that she made for Easter. So last night at the crop that is what I decided to do. I made them using a scallop punch, hole punch, the cricut, cat eye ink and a white pen. Another friend there suggested I laminate them so I could use them over each year. Good idea. :) Here they are! I think they are so cute. You put a York Peppermint Pattie in the middle. I am going to put them at each place setting tomorrow. Just something fun.

Getting Ready for Easter

Getting ready for a class at Paper Vineyard today. Actually two classes. I am sure it will be fun...they always are!
Last night we had our employee crop and I made a bunch of really cute bunnies for the table at Easter. I don't have my camera here so I will have to post a photo later.

I am looking forward to Easter with our family. Everyone is coming here for dinner on the patio. (that is if it isn't still raining) I do love the rain!! We don't get enough of it here in the desert.

Wishing you all a Joyous Easter Celebration! He is RISEN!

Just Because They're Cute

For no other reason than they make me smile! Both are rescue dogs and we love them to pieces. They are both such good dogs. They love to cuddle up together. And Cali has finally learned to play. She had no idea what to do with a toy when we first got her.

Cleaning It Up & A Tour

Finally got some work done in my scraproom. I had been stockpiling things & it was just a mess. I desperately needed to clean it out & reorganize. It took awhile but boy was it worth it! I love the result. Above is a view as you walk into the room.

This is where my son usually sits to do his homework. I originally worked on this side until we added the new computer (which doesn't work any better than the old one- but that's another post). grrr!

This bookcase was brought in from my son's closet. It was mine when I was little and has definitely served its purpose throughout the years. As you will see below my husband organized my closets for me when we first converted this room and it is awesome but I found that I had to get up a lot to go get supplies that I used frequently. So I pulled this bookcase in for just that. Works great so far. I may end up tweaking things a bit, but for now I like it.

We have a large chair in this room too that used to belong to Waylon Jennings. I used to work for Waylon and Jessi. She gave the chair to me after Waylon died. It has very special meaning to me. Love to sit in it together to watch TV.
Hope you enjoyed the little tour!

A Little Birdie Told Me

There's another class at Paper Vineyard. I have so much fun putting these projects together. This one was inspired by an idea book. I started off with a base from my friend Kim . She does such a great job of cutting all kinds of wood projects out for so many different people in the scrapbook/art industry. Pretty cool. Thanks Kim!

So this wall hanging will be offered in 4 different color combinations. And after this photo was taken a cute little Heidi Swapp chandelier charm was added to hang from the bottom hole. Looks really cute. The flowers are painted acrylic and the blue ones are made with the help of Glimmer Mist. Fun technique!
Must say, I love my job!!

Have a great day!
PS...yesterdays photos on my post were from my husbands beautiful garden!
