Going Green!!
Yesterday we had a fun class at Paper Vineyard called "Lucky Me". It was a 'green' mini book using recycled materials. I had two ladies in the class and quite a few kits going out. As it usually goes for my classes, we went over the allotted time. But the gals left with their books complete. (maybe next time I will add an hour to my class time) :P
The accordion style book is made out of cardboard, cereal boxes and some scrapbook paper. The other items that I used to make the embellishments include zippers, soda cans, Starbucks cozy, newspapers, magazines, thin cardboard, old jeans, snaps, old hymnals and more. I had a ball putting the book together. I love to use out of the ordinary things to create with. My thought was to use the little book as a reminder of all the things in our lives that we are lucky to have...our friends, our family, etc. There is plenty of room for journaling and photos.
Thanks to Karen and Erika for a fun afternoon crafting!
Hope this encourages others to look around and see something out of the ordinary
to scrapbook with! Enjoy!

What A Blast!
The bridal shower was so much fun! I loved how it turned out. I think the guests enjoyed themselves and the most important part....my future daughter in law had a great time!
Obviously the theme was Asian and I had so much fun with it. The place settings came together...thanks to Lois (a great customer at PV...she loaned me the cartridge to make the beautiful fans--thanks Lois!) I also embossed the napkin tags with the Chinese symbol for Love.
The cupcakes turned out better than I had imagined. I had them baked for me and frosted high, I then added the red glitter and the fortune cookie. I love how they look! Wahoo!
This shows some of the food! We definitely had plenty! It isn't even all set out in this shot. We had Asian food...chow mein noodles, pot stickers, egg rolls, rice, and then I threw in carrots, tomatoes, snap peas and edamame, chocolate covered strawberries (which were far easier to make than I had thought they would be), vegetarian meatballs, shrimp, crackers and dip. Yummy!
Here is a closeup of the cupcakes....I added my own fortune. And the fun "lucky numbers" are the wedding date! Love it!
This is a shot of the back of Sabrina's hair. Isn't it gorgeous! Her dress was beautiful. Everyone wore beautiful Asian dresses also. All in all it was a great party and I am just thrilled that it all came together so well. I am so blessed to have a wonderful daughter in law! Can't wait for the wedding!
